Monografia stanowi pokłosie międzynarodowej konferencji naukowej zorganizowanej w Krakowie w marcu 2018 r. w dwudziestą rocznicę śmierci prof. dr. hab. Ryszarda Łużnego. W większości współautorami książki są profesorowie, w których karierze naukowej i zawodowej prof. Łużny odegrał istotną rolę. Bogata gamma tematyczna wygłoszonych referatów znakomicie odzwierciedla szeroki wachlarz zainteresowań badawczych krakowsko-lubelskiego słowianoznawcy. Ich rozszerzone wersje – w postaci artykułów naukowych – układają się w pięć działów tematycznych: wspomnienia uczniów o swoim Mistrzu i jego metodzie naukowej; chrześcijaństwo w kulturze i literaturze dawnej Rusi i Rosji; myśl zachodnia we wzajemnych oddziaływania z literaturą wschodniosłowiańską; pogranicze; literatura współczesna Wschodnich Słowian.

The monograph is the aftermath of an international scientific conference organized in Krakow in March 2018 on the twentieth anniversary of the death of Prof. Ryszard Luzny. Most of the book's co-authors are professors in whose scientific and professional career Prof. Luzny played an important role. The rich thematic gamma of the presented papers perfectly reflects the wide range of research interests of the Cracow-Lublin expert in the field of culture and literature of the Eastern Slavs. Their extended versions in the form of scientific articles are arranged into five thematic sections: pupils' memories about the Master and his scientific method; Christianity in the culture and literature of Old Rus and Russia; Western thought in mutual interaction with East Slavic literature; borderland; contemporary literature of the Eastern Slavs.
