Praca ta opisuje historię muzyki Afroamerykańskiej w okresie pomiędzy początkiem niewolnictwa, gdy się formowała,a Drugą Wojną Światową. Praca jest podzielona na kilka części. Rozpoczyna się wprowadzeniem oraz ogólnym zarysem tego, o czym będzie opowiadała. Główna część składa się z czterech rozdziałów. Pierwszy skupia się na historii społeczności Afroamerykanów, niewolnictwie oraz początkach muzyki. Trzeci rozprawia o bluesie, jego początkach, cechach i muzykach z nim związanymi. Czwarty, ostatni, odnosi się od jazzu jako do jednego z najbardziej popularnych gatunków muzycznych w USA. Wyjaśnione w nim będą jego cechy charakterystyczne, prekursorzy oraz znani wykonawcy. Praca zakończona jest podsumowaniem oraz bibliografią.

"Gospel, Blues and Jazz - the birth of black music in USA" focuses on three main music genres which shaped the whole black music in United States of America throughout the history - gospel, blues and jazz. This work presents the history of African-American music between the beginning of slavery of African American people when black music was created and the period after the Second World War. The work was divided into four chapters. It begins with the introduction to the manner of African-American gives an overall view about what it will be. The middle part of the work consists of four chapters. The first one is related to history of African-American community, and it will discuss the topic of slavery and early African-American music. The second one refers to the birth of gospel music, and it will concern the history of it, its features, as well as precursors and famous artists connected to this type of music. The third chapter discusses the topic of blues, its history, characteristic features, as well as the description of precursors and famous blues artists. The last chapter is related to one of the most popular type of African-American music – jazz. Here, the birth of it will be discussed, its characteristics features, as well as precursors and famous jazz musicians. The work ends with the conclusion where the summary will be provided, as well as with bibliography.
