THE THEME OF MEMORY IN VLADIMIR NABOKOV’S AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL PROSE ON THE BASIS OF THE WORKS ,,OTHER SHORES’’ AND ,,SPEAK, MEMORY’’

Praca licencjacka związana jest z motywem pamięci w autobiograficznej prozie Vladimira Nabokova. Składa się z dwóch rozdziałów. W pierwszym z nich omówiona zostaje tematyka związana z biografią pisarza, pamięcią o przeszłości, oraz sposobem, w jaki Nabokov wspomina swoją przeszłość. W drugim rozdziale nawiązuję do motywu pamięci o Rosji, opisuję znaczenie fotografii załączonych do utworu ,,Pamięci, przemów”, a także analizuję kryteria gatunku autobiografii i narracje zastosowaną w omawianych przeze mnie utworach.

The bachelor’s work is related to the memory motif in Vladimir Nabokov’s autobiographical prose. It consists of two chapters. The first chapter discusses the theme of the writer’s biography, the memory of the past, and the way Nabokov mentions his past. In the second chapter I refer to the theme of the memory of Russia, I describe the importance of photographs attached to the work „Speak, memory’’ and I examine the criteria of the autobiography species and the narrative used in the works I discussed.
