Comparative financial analysis of the company Wedel and Wawel in 2017-2022

Tematem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest analiza finansowa przedsiębiorstw z branży cukierniczej Lotte Wedel oraz Wawel SA w latach 2017-2022. W pracy zostały zaprezentowane podstawy teoretyczne oraz proces przeprowadzania analizy finansowej na podstawie wybranych firm. Praca składa się ze wstępu, czterech rozdziałów oraz zakończenia. W pierwszym rozdziale opisano istotę rachunkowości, sprawozdań finansowych oraz jej elementów składowych takich jak bilans, rachunek zysków i strat, rachunek przepływów pieniężnych a także informacji dodatkowej. Rozdział drugi opisuje znaczenie przeprowadzania analizy finansowej, jej metody oraz klasyfikację. W rozdziale znajduje się także sposób przeprowadzania analizy wskaźnikowej za pomocą wybranych przez autora wskaźników. W trzecim rozdziale przedstawiono charakterystykę branży cukierniczej, jej analizę SWOT, a także zaprezentowano informacje na temat badanych przedsiębiorstw. W tym samym rozdziale dokonano również wstępnej analizy bilansu oraz rachunku zysków i strat obu jednostek. W ostatnim rozdziale dokonano analizę wskaźnikową dla obu spółek jednocześnie wykorzystując graficzne elementy ich sprawozdań wraz z interpretacją i oceną. W zakończeniu zostało zawarte podsumowanie dokonanej analizy finansowej wraz z porównaniem sytuacji finansowej badanych firm oraz ich ocena.

The subject of this master's thesis is the financial analysis of companies from the confectionery industry Lotte Wedel and Wawel SA in 2017-2022. The paper presents the theoretical basis and the process of conducting a financial analysis based on Polish companies from the confectionery industry in the reporting period 2017-2022. The work consists of an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion. The first describes the essence of accounting and financial statements and its components such as the balance sheet, profit and loss account, cash flow statement, and additional information. The second chapter describes the importance of conducting financial analysis, its methods and classification. The chapter also includes the method of conducting ratio analysis using indicators selected by the author. The third chapter presents the characteristics of the confectionery industry, its SWOT analysis, and information on the surveyed enterprises. The same chapter also includes a preliminary analysis of the balance sheet and the profit and loss account of both entities. In the last chapter, a ratio analysis was made for both companies, at the same time using the graphic elements of their reports along with interpretation and assessment. At the end, a summary of the financial analysis was included, along with a comparison of the financial situation of the surveyed companies and their assessment.
