Scenarios of the Future: A Sociocultural Analysis on the Example of Selected Science-fiction Movies.

Głównym celem pracy było przeanalizowanie oraz interpretacja wizji przyszłości, które reprezentują wybrane dzieła fantastyczno-naukowe. Nacisk położony został na odnalezienie i sformułowanie swoistej struktury, która stanowi powielającą się bazę dla badanych w niniejszej pracy filmów. Praca składa się z trzech części. W pierwszej z nich przedstawione i omówione zostały grupy teoretyczne, które służyły za podłoże i kontekst do analizy. Socjologia wiedzy pozwoliła głębiej dojrzeć kontekst społeczny i rzeczywistości towarzyszące premierom filmów. Semiotyka kultury zwróciła uwagę na inne struktury oraz ukryte znaczenia analizowanych dzieł. Teoria sztuki zaś uwrażliwiła autora na odrębne środki wyrazu. Druga część pracy stanowi charakterystykę perspektywy badawczej. Przedstawione i omówione zostają w niej cel pracy i podstawowe problemy badawcze, wraz z kategoriami analitycznymi, na podstawie których przeprowadzona została analiza. Ostatnia, trzecia część pracy poświęcona jest analizie wybranych dziełkinematograficznych na podstawie stworzonych przez autora kategorii analitycznych. Takie podejście pozwoliło wyodrębnić reprezentatywny schemat dla omawianych w pracy obrazów fantastyczno-naukowych.

The main aim of this paper was to analyze and interpret the visions of the future which are presented in the chosen science-fiction works. The emphasis was placed on finding out and framing a unique structure that makes up the basis for the analyzed movies. The paper consists of three sections. The first one introduces and discusses theories which gave the basis and context for the analysis. The sociology of knowledge allowed the author to see the social context and the realities of the world during the times when the movies were released more clearly. Semiotics of culture drew the attention towards different structures and hidden meanings. Theories of art made the author more sensitive to different means of expression that were presented in the movies. The second chapter aims at describing the research perspective. The main aim of the paper, research questions and the analytical categories upon which the analysis is based are introduced and described in this section. The last chapter of this paper is dedicated to the analysis of the chosen science-fiction movies. The previously introduced analytical categories created the basis for the analysis.This approach allowed the author to extract the representative structure from the science-fiction works which were discussed in the paper.
