Democratization of the political regimes of the Post-Soviet Central Asian states

Pomimo obecności niektórych badań nad transformacjami reżimów politycznych poszczególnych poradzieckich krajów Azji Środkowej, nadal istnieją luki w zakresie kompleksowych badań, poświęconych analizie procesów demokratyzacji w całym regionie. Praca magisterska jest poświęcona analizie transformacji reżimów politycznych poradzieckich państw Azji Środkowej od 1991 roku i jej wpływu na demokratyzację regionu. Za pomocą analizy wskaźników zarówno ilościowych, jak i jakościowych, charakteryzujących reżimy polityczne określonego regionu, praca wskazuje kluczowe etapy historycznego przebiegu procesu demokratyzacji w poradzieckich państwach Azji Środkowej, określa główne czynniki wewnętrzne stymulujące i spowalniające demokratyzację w analizowanym regionie, rolę podmiotów zewnętrznych w tym procesie i podaje możliwe scenariusze jego dalszego rozwoju.

Despite the presence of certain studies on the transformation of the political regimes of the separate post-Soviet Central Asian countries, there are still gaps in comprehensive research devoted to the analysis of democratization processes throughout the entire region. The master's thesis is devoted to the analysis of the transformation of the political regimes of Post-Soviet Central Asian states since 1991 and its impact on the democratization of the region. By analyzing both quantitative and qualitative indicators characterizing the political regimes of a given region, the work indicates the key stages of the historical course of the democratization process in Post-Soviet Central Asian states, identifies the main internal factors stimulating and slowing down democratization in the analyzed region, the role of external entities in this process and provides possible scenarios for its further development.
