Between antithesis and enumeration, or two versions of prefiguring Polish reality

Artykuł stanowi propozycję przyjrzenia się głównym figurom i tropom retorycznym, które rządzą współczesnym dyskursem o Polsce. Autor posługuje się pojęciem prefiguracji wprowadzonym przez Haydena White’a, ale interesuje go nie historia, lecz współczesność, a dokładnie rzeczywistość rozumiana społecznie. Spośród wielu figur wybrane zostają dwie, które wydają się nadrzędne i emblematyczne dla dwóch odrębnych sposobów postrzegania społeczeństwa czy po prostu "innego": antyteza i enumeracja.

Rusinek explores the most important rhetorical figures and tropes that currently govern discourse in Poland. While he draws on Hayden White's concept of prefiguration his focus is not on history but on the present - on reality understood in social categories. From a multitude if figures he selects two - antithesis and enumeration - which seem paramount and emblematic of two distinct ways of viewing society or simply "the Other".
