Praca dotyczy kobiecej perspektywy państwa rosyjskiego w czasach panowania Anny Iwanowny (1730-1740). Autorka przedstawia w niej spojrzenie podróżujących cudzoziemek na różne procesy zachodzące w Imperium oraz wyjaśnia, jaką miały one świadomość na pewne wydarzenia w tym państwie. Pierwszy rozdział traktuje o sprawach wewnętrznych w Imperium Rosyjskim, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wpływów w państwie carskiego faworyta, Ernesta Birona. Autorka prezentuje także sposób postrzegania przez podróżniczki polityki zagranicznej Anny Iwanowny oraz ich wiedzę na rzeczywiste wydarzenia. Ponadto praca zawiera takie zagadnienia jak: uroczystości rosyjskie, życie codzienne w Imperium Rosyjskim, religijność mieszkańców imperium oraz opinie cudzoziemek dotyczące rodziny carskiej i Rosjan.

The thesis deals with the female perspective of the Russian state during the reign of Anna Ivanovna (1730-1740). In it, the author presents the perspective of travelling foreign women on the various processes taking place in the Empire and explains what awareness they had of certain events in the state. The first chapter deals with internal affairs in the Russian Empire, with a particular focus on the influence in the state of the Tsar's favourite, Ernest Biron. The author also presents the travellers' perceptions of Anna Ivanovna's foreign policy and their knowledge of actual events. In addition, the work includes such topics as Russian ceremonies, daily life in the Russian Empire, the religiosity of the empire's inhabitants and the opinions of foreign women regarding the tsar's family and the Russians.
