Niniejsza praca wprowadza powieść Herkusa Kunčiusa pt. „Litwin w Wilnie” jako nowy kontekst interpretacyjny dla „Małej Apokalipsy” Tadeusza Konwickiego. Poprzez zestawienie owych dwóch tekstów autor próbuje pokazać Polaków i Litwinów jako narody nie w pełni ukształtowane, stale konstruujące swoją tożsamość – zarówno w czasach komunistycznych, jak i po transformacji politycznej. Zrozumienie specyfiki doświadczeń dwóch sąsiednich państw oraz wykazanie wspólnego dziedzictwa kulturowego jest niezbędnym podłożem do wzajemnego dialogu. Praca pokazuje, że historia Polski i Litwy jest nierozerwalnie spleciona, naznaczona zbliżonymi pragnieniami i dylematami, może być więc rozpatrywana na podobnych płaszczyznach i pozwala razem spojrzeć w przyszłość.

This thesis introduces the novel "Lithuanian in Vilnius" by Herkus Kunčius as a new interpretative context for Tadeusz Konwicki's "Little Apocalypse”. By comparing these two texts, the author tries to show Poles and Lithuanians as nations that are not fully formed, constantly constructing their identity - both in communist times and after political transformation. Understanding the essence of the experiences of two neighboring countries and demonstrating a common cultural heritage is an indispensable foundation for mutual dialogue. The thesis shows that the history of Poland and Lithuania is inseparably intertwined, marked by similar desires and dilemmas, so it can be considered on similar levels and let us look at the future together.
