Celem mojej pracy licencjackiej jest przedstawienie motywu kontroli w powieści ,,Die Klavierspielerin” austriackiej Noblistki w dziedzinie literatury Elfriede Jelinek z roku 1983, dominującego w utworze. Relacja między tytułową bohaterką pianistką Eriką Kohut a jej zaborczą matką, zdeterminowana przez stały nadzór i przemoc, zaburza jej zdolność do wchodzenia w kontakty z innymi ludźmi, czego przykładem jest jej związek z uczniem Walterem Klemmerem. Swoją pracą chciałabym udowodnić postawioną we wstępie tezę, która ma wykazać dramatyczne konsekwencje skutki dorosłego życia Eriki pod kontrolą matki oraz jej niezdolność funkcjonowania w społeczeństwie. Każdy rozdział podzieliłam na dwie części. Jeden opisujący kontrolę fizyczną, drugi psychiczną. Aby czytelnik mógł w pełni zrozumieć problematykę utworu, we wstępie wyjaśnię krótko definicję kontroli fizycznej i psychicznej oraz sadomasochizmu i masochizmu, które będą się w mojej pracy często pojawiać. Pierwszy rozdział ma przybliżyć relację między tytułową bohaterką a jej matką oraz zanalizować wszystkie sceny z książki, gdzie występuje kontrola fizyczna jak i psychiczna. Kolejny rozdział zobrazuje relację z uczniem, która w dużej mierze zdeterminowana będzie przez matkę. Podobnie jak w pierwszym rozdziale opiszę w nim wszystkie dowody pokazujące kontrolę i fizyczną.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present the subject of control which is highlighted in the novel “Die Klavierspielerin” written by Austrian Nobel Prize winner Elfriede Jelinek. Relation between the protagonist and her dominant mother damages her ability to interact with other people. The main example of such a disorder is her relationship with one of her students, Walter Klemmer. With this thesis I would like to indicate dramatic consequences of an adult life under mothers control which causes inability to function in a society. Each chapter is divided into two segments. The first one describing physical control and the other one – psychic. To make a reader fully understand the novels message, the introduction contains the definitions of physical control, psychic control, sadomasochism, and masochism. The first chapter is supposed to describe the relation between the protagonist and her mother, analyze all the novels situations which highlight both types of control. The other chapter shows the love affair with the student which is highly influenced by Erikas mother.

Das Ziel meiner Bachelorarbeit besteht darin, die dramatischen Konsequenzen der Kontrolle im Roman ,,Die Klavierspielerin“ von Elfriede Jelinek zu beweisen. Das Leben unter der mütterlichen Kontrolle verursacht, dass die Titelheldin normgerecht in der Gesellschaft nicht funktionieren kann. Um die Bedeutung der Kontrolle im Roman ,,Die Klavierspielerin‘‘ klar und deutlich darzustellen, bespreche ich die Definitionen von der psychischen und physischen Gewalt und des Sadomasochismus und Masochismus. Das erste Kapitel beschreibt das Verhältnis zwischen Erika Kohut und ihrer Mutter und das zweite Kapitel zwischen Erika und ihrem Schüler – Walter Klemmer. Jedes Kapitel enthält die Beschreibung der psychischen und physischen Kontrolle, die auf jeder Seite vorkommt.
