Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership as a type of a new generation international agreement with particular emphasis on its global importance and strategic aspects

Celem pracy jest omówienie geopolitycznego oraz ekonomicznego znaczenia Transatlantyckiego Partnerstwa w Dziedzinie Handlu i Inwestycji pomiędzy Stanami Zjednoczonymi a Unią Europejską. W szczególności analizie zostały poddane korzyści oraz zagrożenia jakie wynikają z negocjowanych kwestii. W pracy podjęto próbę wykazania znaczenia i roli TTIP wobec wyzwań gospodarczych, które stoją przed partnerami po obydwu stronach Oceanu Atlantyckiego. Do badań wykorzystano dostępne dokumenty, jak również liczne materiały monograficzne, a także artykuły naukowe. Dominującą metodą badawczą zastosowaną w pracy jest analiza źródeł oraz materiałów. Rezultatem osiągniętych badań jest potwierdzenie tezy, iż zawarcie TTIP przyniesie korzyści wielkim korporacjom międzynarodowym oraz przedsiębiorstwom, narażając w wielu aspektach interes konsumentów oraz pracowników. Wykazanie wyższości reprezentowanego interesu prywatnego nad interesem publicznym stanowi istotną część podjętych badań. Ukazana analiza ma służyć wyraźniejszemu przedstawieniu i omówieniu badanego zagadnienia.

The aim of the work is to discuss the geopolitical and economic significance of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership between the United States and the European Union. In particular, the analysis examined the benefits and threats that arise from the negotiated issues. The paper attempts to demonstrate the importance and role of TTIP to the economic challenges facing partners on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. The available documents as well as numerous monographic materials as well as scientific articles were used for the research. The dominant research method used in the work is the analysis of sources and materials. The result of the research is confirming the thesis that the conclusion of TTIP will benefit big international corporations and enterprises, exposing the interests of consumers and employees in many aspects. Demonstrating the superiority of the represented private interest over the public interest is an important part of the research undertaken. The analysis presented is intended to provide a clearer presentation and discussion of the subject under issue.
