Topos of death in Osip Mandelstam’s dialogic space

W niniejszej pracy analizowane są: motyw śmierci, kategorie czasu, przestrzeń dialogu między postaciami, a także innymi elementami struktury tekstów Osipa Mandelsztama, w których występują relacje dialogiczne. Poruszone zostały również inne najważniejsze zagadnienia poetyki Mandelsztama, takie jak: koncepcja słowa pojmowanego jako Logos, koncepcja nieprzemijalności sztuki chrześcijańskiej, tradycji hellenistycznej, problemy odpowiedzialności poety i człowieka w ogóle, życia w harmonii z wewnętrzną prawdą i ze światem. Odpowiedzialność Mandelsztama polega na świadomości, że zarówno chrześcijański etos życia, nieustannego twórczego działania i śmierci, jak i problem talentu poetyckiego, są sprawą łaski danej od Boga. Śmierć jest początkiem, a nie końcem. Mandelsztam jako jeden z nielicznych potrafił przeciwstawić się ideologii systemu totalitarnego. Elementami przestrzeni w strukturze tekstu Mandelsztama są: poznanie, problem wyboru, decyzji, działanie lub brak działania, spotkanie z drugim człowiekiem, dialog. W twórczości Mandelsztama występują konteksty filozofii tomistycznej i etyki klasycznej. Poezja i filozofia współistnieją, konstytuują swoisty dialog w strukturze wiersza. Obie dziedziny wynikają z dążenia do prawdy o świecie.

In the present thesis are analyzed: the themes of death, dialogue, time, space and other major problems encountered in Osip Mandelstam’s works, such as the concept of words understood as the Logos, the concept of Christian art, Hellenistic tradition, truth, harmony with personal inner truth, responsibility. Mandelstam’s responsibility is the awareness that the Christian ethos of life, creating and death, and the problem of poetic talent are given the grace of God. Mandelstam believe that Christian art has always been an action based on the great idea of redemption. Death is a beginning, not the end. Mandelstam as one of the few able to resist the ideology of the totalitarian system.In Mandelstam's poetry are included contexts of Thomistic philosophy and classical ethics. The essence of word is the Logos, the association of different traditions: Judaic, Chistian and Hellenistic culture. The Logos contains the whole history of man kind. In Mandelstam's works are dialogues between the characters and the relationships between various elements of the structure of the text. Poetry and philosophy coexist and complement each other, forming a kind of dialogue in the structure of Mandelstam's works. All kinds of dialogues show man's desire to know the truth about the world.
