The religiosity of young people entering adulthood, development of their identity and psychological well-being

Celem prezentowanych badań było określenie typu religijności i stylu tożsamości charakterystycznego dla badanej grupy młodych Polaków wchodzących w dorosłość . Równocześnie pragnęliśmy odpowiedzieć na pytanie o wzajemne zależności między religijnością, rozwojem tożsamości a poziomem dobrostanu osób będących w okresie wyłaniającej się dorosłości . W badaniach uczestniczyły 203 osoby (109 kobiet i 94 mężczyzn) w wieku od 20 do 25 lat. Do badania tożsamości użyto Kwestionariusza Stylów Tożsamości ISI-3 autorstwa Berzonsky ego, do badania religijności Skali Centralności Religijności C-15 Hubera, a do badania dobrostanu Kwestionariusza Dobrostanu Psychicznego Wojciechowskiej. Uzyskane wyniki, wskazując na związek między tożsamością a religijnością i poczuciem dobrostanu pozwalają równocześnie wnioskować, że normatywny styl tożsamości jest mediatorem między religijnością a poczuciem dobrostanu młodych dorosłych.

The objective of the presented research was to define the type of religiosity and style of identity characteristic of a group of young Poles 'entering adulthood'. At the same time, we wished to investigate the mutual relations between religiosity, development of identity and level of well-being of people in the period of emerging adulthood. Participants were 203 people (109 women and 94 men) aged between 20 and 25. The following tools were used: Berzonsky s Identity Style Inventory (ISI-3); Huber s Centrality of Religiosity Scale (C-15); and Wojciechowska s Psychological Well-Being Questionnaire. The results indicate that identity is linked to religiosity and sense of well-being, and that a normative style of identity is a mediator between religiosity and the sense of well-being of young adults.
