Abstract in English

What I seek to propose is, on the one hand, a brief summary about the issue of theatricality in the Divne Comedy; on the other hand I seek to analyze thie phenomenon in greater detail in one of the most dramatical episodes of Inferno, that of the thieves' metamorphoses. The discourse on theatrical dimension remains in this article in relation to other discourses (philosophical, theological), consistent with the intentio auctoris. Referring on Aristotelian hylomorphism, I consider the metamorphic contrapasso of the damned as a sad consequence of the damage caused by mortal sin to their virtus informativa.
