Celem badania była analiza właściwości psychometrycznych polskiej wersji Kwestionariusza Empatii (EmQue), narzędzia służącego do oceny empatii małych dzieci na podstawie raportów rodzicielskich. Oceniano rzetelność, trafność konstrukcyjną oraz niezmienność pomiaru w zależności od wieku i płci dzieci. Przeprowadzono dwa badania z udziałem 1211 rodziców dzieci w wieku od ośmiu miesięcy do pięciu lat. Do oceny trafności EmQue wykorzystano Kwestionariusz Mocnych Stron i Trudności oraz Kwestionariusz Rozwoju Emocjonalnego i Społecznego. Przeanalizowano trzy modele wersji 18-itemowej i skróconej wersji 13-itemowej. W obu wersjach EmQue potwierdzono strukturę trójczynnikową. Analizy porównawcze niezmienności konfiguracyjnej, metrycznej i skalarnej dla skróconej wersji narzędzia potwierdziły niezmienność pomiaru w różnych grupach wieku i płci. Wyniki potwierdzają, że kwestionariusz EmQue jest wiarygodnym i ważnym narzędziem do pomiaru empatii u małych dzieci w Polsce.

The study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Polish versions of the Empathy Questionnaire (EmQue), a parent-reported measure of empathy in young children, including reliability, construct validity, and measurement invariance across age and gender. Two studies were conducted with 1,211 parents of typically developing children aged eight months to five years. Parents rated their children’s empathic behaviours using the Empathy Questionnaire. The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire and the Emotional and Social Development Questionnaire were used to assess concurrent validity of EmQue. One-, three-, and bifactor models were analysed to evaluate the 18-item and 13-item versions. A three-factor structure was identified in both versions of the Polish EmQue. Comparative analyses of configural, metric, and scalar invariance for the 13-item version confirmed measurement invariance across age and gender. The results indicate that EmQue is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring empathy in young Polish children.
