The present thesis aims to analyze the transmission of historical memory and the elements of generational postmemory within the novel El corazón helado by Almudena Grandes. The historical panorama is introduced, covering the times of the Civil War and its consequences, Francoism, and contemporary Spain. Key concepts, such as historical memory and postmemory, and the functions they perform are explained. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la transmisión de la memoria histórica y los elementos de la posmemoria generacional dentro de la novela El corazón helado de Almudena Grandes. Se introduce el panorama histórico, los tiempos de la Guerra Civil y sus consecuencias, el franquismo y la España contemporánea. Se explican los conceptos clave, como la memoria histórica y la posmemoria, y sus funciones que desempeñan.
