Analiza stalkingu poprzez narrację niewiarygodną w literaturze anglojęzycznej XX oraz XXI wieku

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie jak zjawisko stalkingu zostało ukazane w literaturze anglojęzycznej XX oraz XXI wieku, w której zastosowano narrację niewiarygodną. Dogłębnej analizie poddany został ,,Kolekcjoner” John’a Fowles’a oraz ,,Loner” Teddy’ego Wayne’a, w których to występuje narrator niewiarygodny. Praca koncentruje się na motywach obsesji i kontroli, ale również na zauważeniu w jaki sposób typ narracji wpływa na pogłębienie portretu psychologicznego postaci. Pierwszy rozdział pracy poświęcony jest głównemu bohaterowi ,,Kolekcjonera” – Frederickowi Cleggowi, oraz jego relacjach z innymi bohaterami. Struktura ta zostaje powtórzona w drugim rozdziale pracy, ale z zastosowaniem bohaterów z ,,Lonera” Teddy’ego Wayne’a. Pracę tą kończy porównanie obu powieści, które ukazuje różnice i podobieństwa obrazu stalkera w literaturze.

The aim of this dissertation is to explore the phenomenon of stalking through the eyes of unreliable narrators in 20th and 21st century literature. By analysing various fragments from The Collector by John Fowles (1963) and Loner by Teddy Wayne (2016), which are used as the primary sources, this dissertation examines how these narrators depict the themes of obsession, control but also how this narrative technique deepens the psychological complexity of such characters. The first chapter of this dissertation is dedicated to a detailed study of Frederick Clegg and his relationship with other characters in The Collector, the same structure is then repeated in the second chapter with David Federman from Loner. This dissertation concludes with a comparison of the novels, which reveals the affinities and discrepancies in the portrayal of a stalker in literature.
