Artykuł stanowi próbę pogłębionej analizy koncepcji "hüzün" w prozie Orhana Pamuka. Ważnym aspektem rozważań jest szczegółowe opracowanie kontekstu historycznego i językowego. Dalszą interpretację umożliwia zestawienie badanego zjawiska z teoriami afektywnymi, pamięciowymi i postkolonialnymi. Celem artykułu jest zarówno ukazania wielowymiarowości i funkcjonalności idei hüzün, jak i przybliżenie jej złożoności polskiemu czytelnikowi.

Ryba examines the notion of "hüzün" in Orhan Pamuk's fiction with a focus on the historical and linguistic context. He draws on theories of affect as well as memory and postcolonial studies. His aim is to highlight the multidimensionality and functionality of the notion of hüzün, and to make its complexity accessible to Polish readers.
