Artykuł prezentuje problem rządów Jadwigi Andegaweńskiej w Polsce i jej udział w prowadzeniu polityki międzynarodowej Królestwa.
The article presents the problem of Jadwiga of Anjou's rule in Poland and her participation in the international policy of the Kingdom. The author states that Jadwiga, from her coronation (16 October 1384), had full power and ruled independently with the support of Polish secular and clerical dignitaries. The marriage with Jagiełło and his coronation were followed by the co-rulership of the royal couple. Jadwiga, as heir to the throne, retained all royal rights while engaging in the internal affairs of the king-dom. The Queen was particularly concerned with Poland's relations with the Kingdom of Hungary and the state of the Teutonic Order in Prussia. She brought about the restitution of Red Ruthenia, and after the death of her sister Maria she emphasised her rights to the throne in Buda. She strove to maintain peaceful relations with the Teutonic state and de-manded the return of the Dobrzyń lands, Jadwiga was also an effective mediator in dynastic internal conflicts in Lithuania.
