The thesis focuses on the contemporary political culture in South Korea. Its aim is to present in detail the continuity and change in the political attitudes and values ​​of society. In order to present the subject in detail, the thesis draws on traditional elements of Korean culture and historical events, focusing on the formation of the politics of the Republic of Korea after it gained independence from Japanese colonization. The thesis also discusses in detail the last four decades, including the democratization of South Korea and the political divisions that arose as a result of the change in the state system. According to the hypothesis contained in the thesis, the characteristics of the contemporary political culture in South Korea vary depending on the generation, but are based on traditional elements of Korean culture and political thought. The presented analysis of historical events and the influence of traditional ideas on the political culture of today's society confirms this hypothesis.
