The purpose of the study was to examine the impact of a chain hotel manager's emotional intelligence on the work of the entire team. A questionnaire was used for the examination. The form mainly searched for answers on the topic of development and training in emotional intelligence and how to implement it at work. The respondents of the survey sample were people working in the hospitality industry, predominantly those with one to three years of work experience. The end result showed that more than half of the respondents had not had emotional intelligence training, despite the fact that they believe it is extremely helpful in the development of leadership skills and daily work with customers. Those who took part in the form overwhelmingly said that a manager's EI has an impact on employees and the effectiveness of their work. According to respondents, the biggest obstacle when implementing emotional intelligence training is employee resistance to change, limited resources such as time and money, and lack of management support. According to respondents, new technologies and tools that can support the development of EI are mainly coaching programs, stress management apps and training platforms. They rated EI in the work of a hotel manager in the future as significant. Through the survey, we learned that in most of the companies where the research group works, unfortunately, there is no emotional intelligence training and no access to ongoing psychological care. According to the employees, this is a big loss for the hotels, as EI helps them to be more effective and to continuously improve as an employee and as a person. A hotel manager who is after this type of training is considered (in more votes) to be more responsible, able to handle conflicts and stressful situations at work. The survey pointed out to us the main problems resulting from the lack of training, such as failure to recognize the emotions of co-workers and customers, problems with stress at work and low efficiency. It was felt that timely training, discussions with supervisors and building motivation at work could help develop emotional intelligence and the employee as an individual.pl
Celem pracy było sprawdzenie wpływu inteligencji emocjonalnej managera hotelu sieciowego na pracę całego zespołu. Do badania wykorzystano ankietę.
