Management of a sports club on the example of FKS Stal Mielec

Tematem pracy magisterskiej jest zarządzanie klubem sportowym na przykładzie FKS Stal Mielec. Celem badania jest szczegółowa analiza sposobów zarządzania tym klubem, z uwzględnieniem jego rozwoju, innowacji wdrażanych w procesach zarządczych oraz wyzwań, przed którymi stanęła organizacja. Przeprowadzona analiza dotyczy zarówno aspektów strukturalnych, jak i finansowych, a także wpływu podejmowanych decyzji na wyniki sportowe i wizerunek klubu. W badaniach zastosowano takie metody jak analiza dokumentów źródłowych, metody statystyczne oraz analizy SWOT i PEST, które pozwoliły ocenić mocne i słabe strony zarządzania klubem. Badania wykazały, że FKS Stal Mielec, mimo bogatej historii i zakorzenienia w lokalnej społeczności, wciąż mierzy się z wyzwaniami związanymi z utrzymaniem stabilności finansowej oraz efektywnym zarządzaniem zasobami ludzkimi. Choć w klubie wprowadzono szereg innowacji mających na celu poprawę organizacji oraz zwiększenie konkurencyjności, istnieją obszary wymagające dalszej optymalizacji, szczególnie w kontekście zarządzania infrastrukturą oraz współpracy z interesariuszami. Mimo tych wyzwań, FKS Stal Mielec zbudował solidne fundamenty, które przy odpowiednich decyzjach zarządu mogą prowadzić do dalszego rozwoju klubu i umocnienia jego pozycji w polskim futbolu.

The subject of this master's thesis is the management of a sports club on the example of FKS Stal Mielec. The aim of the study is a detailed analysis of the ways in which this club is managed, taking into account its development, the innovations implemented in management processes and the challenges faced by the organisation. The analysis carried out concerns both structural and financial aspects, as well as the impact of decisions taken on sports performance and the image of the club. Methods such as source document analysis, expert interview, statistical methods i.e. Altman’s index and SWOT and PEST analyses were used in the research to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the club's management. The research showed that FKS Stal Mielec, despite its rich history and roots in the local community, still faces challenges in maintaining financial stability and effective human resource management. Although a number of innovations have been introduced at the club to improve the organisation and increase competitiveness, there are areas for further optimisation, particularly in the context of infrastructure management and stakeholder cooperation. Despite these challenges, FKS Stal Mielec has built a solid foundation which, with the right decisions by the Board, can lead to further development of the club and strengthen its position in Polish football.
