Przedmiotem mojej pracy jest analiza metod wykorzystywanych do stworzenia lęku w sztuce teatralnej Maurice’a Maeterlincka pod tytułem Księżniczka Malena, która została wydana w 1889 roku. W pierwszym rozdziale przedstawiam charakterystyczne idee teatru Maeterlinckiego, takie jak wpływy niemieckich twórców czy symbolizm. Drugi rozdział skupia się na scenografii, która jest kluczowym elementem w tworzeniu atmosfery niepokoju w sztuce. Trzeci rozdział poświęcony jest konstrukcji postaci występujących w dramacie. Wszystko to, przedstawia niepokój nie tylko jako indywidualną emocję, ale także jako zbiorowe doświadczenie, które wpływa na losy wszystkich postaci.

The subject of my bachelor’s thesis is a play by Maurice Maeterlinck entitled Princess Maleine, published in 1889, where I focus on the problem of creating anxiety. In the first chapter, I present the characteristic ideas of Maeterlinckian theater, such as the influence of German artists and symbolism. The second chapter focuses on the set, which is a key element in creating the atmosphere of anxiety in the play. The third chapter is devoted to the construction of the characters in the drama. This, in fact, presents anxiety not only as an individual emotion, but also as a collective experiences that influence the fate of all the characters.

Le présent mémoire de licence analyse les méthodes de la création de l’angoisse dans La Princesse Maleine de Maurice Maeterlinck, pièce de théâtre publiée en 1889. Dans le premier chapitre, je présente les idées caractéristiques du théâtre maeterlinckien, telles que l'influence des artistes allemands et le symbolisme. Le deuxième chapitre focalise sur le décor, qui est un élément clé dans la création de l’atmosphère de l’anxiété dans la pièce. Le troisième chapitre est consacré à la construction des personnages du drame. Celui-ci, en fait, présente l’anxiété non seulement comme une émotion individuelle, mais aussi comme des expériences collectives qui influencent le destin de tous les personnages.
