Niniejsza praca dotyczy jednego z najważniejszych elementów kultury Chin, jakim jest zjawisko twarzy lian i mian. Praca bada, jak koncepcja twarzy lian i mian wpływa na życie bohaterów w powieści "Raj pierwszej miłości Fang Si-chi" autorstwa tajwańskiej pisarki Lin Yihan. Koncepcja lian i mian jest kluczowym elementem chińskiej kultury, odzwierciedlającym kwestie godności, reputacji oraz społecznej akceptacji. W pierwszym rozdziale przedstawiono życiorys Lin Yihan i wpływ jej powieści na społeczeństwo tajwańskie i chińskie. W drugim rozdziale opisano różnice między twarzą lian i mian, a także różnice między twarzą i honorem. W trzecim rozdziale ukazano wpływ twarzy lian i mian na bohaterów książki.

This thesis refers to one of the most important elements of Chinese culture, the phenomenon of face lian and mian. The work examines how the concepts of lian and mian influences the lives of the characters in the novel "Fang Si-chi’s First Love Paradise" by the Taiwanese writer Lin Yihan. The concepts of lian and mian is a crucial element of Chinese culture, reflecting issues of dignity, reputation, and social acceptance. The first chapter presents Lin Yihan’s biography and the impact of her novel on Taiwanese and Chinese society. The second chapter describes the differences between lian and mian, as well as the differences between face and honor. The third chapter shows the influence of lian and mian on the characters in the book.
