Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej pt. "Ewolucja archetypu mściciela w komiksie na podstawie postaci Batmana w latach 1939-2024" jest zobrazowanie tego, jak zmieniał się Batman, a wraz z nim archetyp komiksowego mściciela, którego bohater jest niejako protoplastą. Praca zapoznaje czytelnika z terminologią z zakresu psychologii, literatury, medioznawstwa i komiksu, a także historią wydawnictwa DC Comics. Analizę historii Batmana podzielono na pięć rozdziałów, z których każdy zajmował się kolejnym komiksowym okresem. W badaniu zastosowano połączenie analizy zawartości z metodą monograficzną, a odpowiednio dobrany klucz kategoryzacyjny pozwolił wyszczególnić i przeanalizować najważniejsze elementy występujące w komiksach z Batmanem.Przeprowadzona analiza nie tylko pokazuje rozwój postaci Batmana w latach 1939-2024 i związanego z nim archetypu mściciela, ale także prezentuje to, jak superbohater dostosowywał się do danych czasów i licznych zmian, a co za tym idzie ewolucję samego komiksowego medium.
The purpose of this thesis entitled. "The evolution of the vigilante archetype in comics based on the Batman between 1939 and 2024" is to illustrate how Batman and the archetype of the comic book vigilante changed, as well.The work introduces the reader to the terminology of psychology, literature, media and comics, as well as the history of the DC Comics publishing house. The analysis of Batman's history was divided into five chapters, each dealing with another comic book era. The study used a combination of content analysis and the monographic method, and a properly selected categorization key made it possible to detail and analyze the most important elements present in Batman comics.The analysis not only shows the development of the Batman between 1939 and 2024 and the associated vigilante archetype, but also presents how the superhero was adapting to the particular times and numerous changes, as well as the evolution of the comic book medium itself.
