Niniejsza praca podejmuje temat krytyki religii instytucjonalnej Lwa Tołstoja. Pisarz krytykując oficjalne chrześcijaństwo interpretuje Ewangelię na swój racjonalistyczny sposób, będąc twórcą doktryny zwanej przez uczniów tołstoizmem. Ustalenie na czym polega krytyka tradycji Cerkwi Prawosławnej uprawianej przez Tołstoja, a także zbadanie jej rozwoju na przestrzeni życia Pisarza jest głównym celem tej pracy. Pierwsza część dotyczyć będzie kwestii biograficznych, druga część będzie określać na czym polega religia Tołstoja, trzecia - właściwa - próbuje ustalić na czym ta krytyka religii instytucjonalnej się opierała.

This work deals with the topic of criticism of the institutional religion of Leo Tolstoy. By criticizing official Christianity, the writer interprets the Gospel in his rationalist way, being the creator of the doctrine called by students Tolstoyism. Determining what the criticism of the tradition of the Orthodox Church cultivated by Tolstoy is, as well as examining its development throughout the writer's life is the main purpose of this work. The first part will deal with biographical issues, the second part will describe what Tolstoy's religion is about, the third - the main one - will try to determine what this criticism of institutional religion was based on.
