One of the first predecessors of the avant-garde movement in the 20th century, influenced by the French school of poetry and decadence, his short career in poetry has inspired many generations of writers, not only in Europe, but mainly in the United States. This thesis will provide in deep analysis that the poetry of Arthur Rimbaud had a vast impact on the life and literary work of Allen Ginsberg, and it’ll prove that if it wasn’t for Rimbaud, we wouldn’t have Ginsberg.
