Analizie jakościowej i ilościowej poddano 22 artykuły wydane przez Variety i The Hollywood Reporter podczas Europejskiego Marketu Filmowego i Marche du Film w 2025 roku. Badania przeprowadzone z zastosowaniem autorskiego kwestionariusza analizy treści potwierdziły hipotezę główną, zakładającą, że Variety i The Hollywood Reporter stosują zróżnicowane sposoby przedstawiania tematyki społeczno-politycznej. W prezentacji wyników ilościowych i jakościowych przedstawiono liczbę publikacji, długość w wierszach, stosunek badanych artykułów do całości, ton, autorstwo, specyfikację tematów, wykorzystanie cytatów oraz sposób edycji.
The thesis Film Festivals as Platforms for Socio-Political Debate is focused on the management of information by film industry media in publicising topics that take place at class A film festivals. The author extends the image of the film festival showing that, because of the media reach, it can be used to coverage of difficult topics, using not only programme selection of films, but also by organised campaigns involving activists. The aim of the paper is to find, how The Hollywood Reporter and Variety present socio-political topics in their printed editions during film festivals. A mixed-method content analysis was focus on 22 socio-political articles from the Variety and The Hollywood Reporter that were published during the European Film Market and Cannes Film Market in 2025. The research conducted using the author's content analysis questionnaire confirmed the main hypothesis, assuming that The Variety and The Hollywood Reporter use differentiated ways of presenting socio-political topics. By quantitative and qualitative results, the author shown numbers of articles, length in lines, ratio of articles to the total, tone, authorship, subject specification, use of quotes and editing method. The analysis made it possible to illustrate in detail the editorial differences and similarities, as well as the main points of reference and representation of given situations in specific magazines.
