Praca poświęcona jest analizie zjawiska określanego jako "cancel culture". Pierwszy rozdział przedstawia genezę tego terminu oraz historyczny kontekst rozwoju praktyk, do których się odnosi. Następnie omówiono proponowane dotychczas w literaturze definicje cancel culture oraz praktyk pokrewnych, takich jak no-platforming i bojkot, przy wskazaniu różnic między nimi. Kolejna część pracy dotyczy sposobów uzasadniania dopuszczalności stosowania praktyk związanych z cancel culture, które różnią się w zależności od interpretacji zjawiska jako kary społecznej i formy protestu. Zakończenie zawiera podsumowanie wniosków oraz przedstawienie propozycji alternatywnych do cancelowania praktyk.

The thesis is an attempt to analyse the phenomenon commonly referred to as cancel culture. The first chapter outlines the origins of the term and the historical context of the practices to which it refers. It then discusses the definitions of cancel culture and related practices, such as no-platforming and boycotting, that have been proposed in the literature to date, with particular emphasis on the differences between them. The following section examines the ways in which practices associated with cancel culture have been justified, depending on whether the phenomenon is interpreted as a form of social punishment or as a form of protest. The conclusion summarises the findings and outlines alternative practices proposed as potential substitutes for canceling.
