Design for children in the People's Republic of Poland (PRL)

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy jest projektowanie dla dzieci w PRL-u. Termin projektowanie rozumiany jest w pracy zarówno jako wzornictwo, jak i kształtowanie przestrzeni. W pracy omówione zostały w kolejnych rozdziałach: oświata i wychowanie w PRL, miejsce dziecka w mieszkaniu i osiedlu, projektowanie dla edukacji, miejsce dziecka we wnętrzu, zabawki oraz dwie inicjatywy włączone w obchody Międzynarodowego Roku Dziecka (wystawa Wzornictwo Dzieciom oraz budowa Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka w Warszawie). W pracy uwzględniono wpływ na opisywane zjawisko sytuacji ekonomicznej, politycznej i społecznej. Przedstawione zostały także dające punkt odniesienia do porównawczych analiz wybrane realizacje zagraniczne.

The subject of this thesis is the design for children in the People's Republic of Poland. The successive chapters deal with: education and school system in the People's Republic of Poland, space for a child in the flat and the housing estate, design for education, space for a child in the interior, toys, and finally two initiatives as part of the celebration of the International Year of the Child (“Design for Children” exhibition and construction of the Children's Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw). The study includes the impact of the economic, political and social situation on the described phenomenon. Selected foreign projects, which give a reference point for comparative analyses, are also presented.
