The place and role of the Military Intelligence Service and the Military Counterintelligence Service in the security system of the Third Republic of Poland

Praca licencjacka ma na celu określenie miejsca oraz roli wojskowych służb specjalnych w ramach systemu bezpieczeństwa III RP. Praca porusza tematykę wydarzeń z 2006 roku, czyli likwidacji Wojskowych Służb Informacyjnych oraz publikacji tzw. "Raportu Macierewicza", starając się ukazać konsekwencje dla bezpieczeństwa i pozycji międzynarodowej III RP. W pracy przedstawiona została analiza ustawowych zadań Służby Wywiadu Wojskowego oraz Służby Kontrwywiadu Wojskowego. Autorka pracy dokonała również oceny działalności współczesnych służb wojskowych odpowiadając na postawione pytanie badawcze: Czy likwidacja WSI oraz powołanie w ich miejsce SKW i SWW zwiększyło efektywność, skuteczność oraz jakość działań służb? Niniejsza praca porusza również problematykę związaną z wystąpieniem wysokiego stopnia upolitycznienia służb specjalnych oraz konsekwencji z tym związanych. W pracy znalazła się również analiza opisu legislacyjnego prowadzącego do uchwalenia Ustawy o Służbie Kontrwywiadu Wojskowego oraz Służbie Wywiadu Wojskowego z dnia 9 czerwca 2006 roku.

The bachelor's thesis aims to define the place and role of military secret services within the security system of the Third Republic of Poland. The work deals with the events of 2006, i.e. the liquidation of the Military Information Services and the publication of the so-called "Macierewicz Report", trying to show the consequences for the security and international position of the Third Republic of Poland. The work presents an analysis of the statutory tasks of the Military Intelligence Service and the Military Counterintelligence Service. The author of the work also assessed the activities of present-day military services, answering the research question: Did the liquidation of the WSI and the appointment of the SKW and SWW in their place increased effectiveness and quality of the services' activities? This work also addresses the issues related to the occurrence of a high degree of politicization of secret services and the related consequences. The work also includes an analysis of the legislative description leading to the adoption of the Act on the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Military Intelligence Service of June 9, 2006.
