Buried soils on Grodzisko (Krakow-Tyniec) - the rate of preservation and classification

Nadrzędnym celem pracy była identyfikacja gleb kopalnych na Grodzisku, ocena stanu ich zachowania i klasyfikacja. Podczas prac terenowych wykonano profile glebowe i pobrano próbki do analiz laboratoryjnych i badań mikromorfologicznych. Ich wyniki potwierdziły występowanie gleb kopalnych w jednym z profili, które wraz z glebą współczesną tworzą sekwencję gleb. Pozwoliły one również na rozpoznanie dominujących procesów glebotwórczych zachodzących na badanym obszarze i porównanie stopnia ich intensywności w glebie kopalnej i współczesnej, a przez to na ocenę stopnia ich zachowania. Stwierdzono znaczny wpływ człowieka na uformowanie się pokrywy glebowej na wierzchowinie Grodziska.

The main aim of the study was identification of the buried soil on Grodzisko, assessment of their preservation and classification. During field studies the soil profiles were carried out and samples were taken for laboratory and micromorphological examinations. The results of the laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of buried soils in one of the profiles, which, together with the soil contemporary form a sequence of soils. They also allowed for the identification of the dominant soil-forming processes occurring in the study area and comparing the degree of their intensity in the buried soil and present, and thus to assess the degree of their behavior. It was a significant human influence on the formation of soil cover on the top of Grodzisko.
