Generation Identity - paneuropejski ruch młodzieżowy

Przedmiotem dysertacji jest paneuropejski ruch młodzieżowy Generation Identity, skrajnie prawicowy, traktowany jako „ruch ekstremistyczny” przez wiele narodów europejskich. Jej celem jest analiza i pogłębiona refleksja na temat historii ideologii tożsamościowej oparta na badaniach kultury ruchu Generation Identity, w tym przede wszystkim wspólnych tematów, norm, wartości oraz konstruowania granic europejskiej tożsamości. Badania pokazują, że członkowie ruchu Generation Identity uważają się za rdzennych – zatem jedynych “legalnych” mieszkańców kontynentu europejskiego. Okazało się również, że kluczową rolę odgrywa historia oraz abstrakcyjne pojmowanie przeszłych tożsamości europejskich, na której to podstawie konstruowane są obecne przekonania i światopogląd tożsamościowców. Identitaryści uważają się za obrońców europejskiego dziedzictwa i strażników terytorium etniczno-kulturowego, operujących na metapolitycznym polu walki z innymi. Walczą o kulturową hegemonię.

This thesis analyzes the pan-European youth movement ‘Generation Identity’, a far-right group which has been designated as an ‘Extremist Organization’ by multiple European nations. It seeks to analyze and discuss the history of identitarian ideology and explore the culture of the Generation Identity movement including common themes, norms, values, and the boundaries of Europeanness constructed. It concludes that Generation Identity members view themselves as the indigenous peoples of Europe, and therefore as the only legitimate inhabitants of the European continent. Further, this paper concludes that history and abstract notions of historic European identities are key aspects in the construction of identitarian identities and worldviews. Identitarians view themselves as defenders of European ethno-cultural heritage and territory, operating in a metapolitical battlefield fighting for control of cultural hegemony.
