Intercultural education in cultural institutions of Borderlands on the example of the Regional Centre of Borderland Cultures (RCKP) in Krosno

Edukacja międzykulturowa jest terminem, który w literaturze polskiej pojawia się stosunkowo niedawno, dlatego główną problematyką oraz celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza edukacji międzykulturowej jej cele i formy. Rozpatruję również istotę kultury pogranicza, opierając się na różnych ujęciach definicyjnych. Odrębną część poświęcam kulturze pogranicza ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem specyfiki pogranicza polsko-ukraińskiego. Jako dobrą praktykę w pielęgnowaniu kultury pogranicza podaję Regionalne Centrum Kultur Pogranicza w Krośnie.

Intercultural education is a term which has relatively recently appeared in Polish literature therefore the primary purpose of this study is to analyse the aims and forms of intercultural education. The present study also focuses on the essence of Borderlands culture, which is described from different points of view and based on various definitions. Moreover, this study deals with the issues related to the situation in the Poland-Ukraine border region. Regional Centre of Borderland Cultures (RCKP) in Krosno is an excellent example of nurturing culture of Borderlands.
