The Interwar period in Polish literature is a time of high development of the literary reportage as a separate literary genre. Reportage focuses on current events, shows the problems of individuals as well as entire communities and places them in the political, social and cultural context.Social issues are also an important topic brought up in travel reportages. An attempt to reflect the social reality in Russia and Germany in the early thirties of the twentieth century became the subject of such reports as Moja podróż do Rosji by Antoni Słonimski, Opierzona rewolucja by Melchior Wańkowicz, Niemcy á la minute by Zygmunt Nowakowski and Cywil w Berlinie by Antoni Słonimski.The authors show the societies of Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany at the time of political transition, they try to find a new type of man shaped by the totalitarian reality. Reporters are an intermediaries between reality and the audience, they use various techniques of collection, selection and putting together materials used in the text.

Dwudziestolecie międzywojenne to okres rozwoju formy literackiej, jaką jest reportaż. Reportaż skupia się na bieżących wydarzeniach, pokazuje problemy jednostek i całych społeczności oraz umieszcza je w szerszym kontekście politycznym, społecznym i kulturowym.Problematyka społeczna jest również istotnym tematem reportażu podróżniczego. Próby odzwierciedlenia społecznej realności w Rosji i Niemczech na początku lat trzydziestych XX wieku stały się tematem reportaży: Moja podróż do Rosji Antoniego Słonimskiego, Opierzona rewolucja Melchiora Wańkowicza, Niemcy á la minute Zygmunta Nowakowskiego i Cywil w Berlinie Antoniego Słonimskiego. Autorzy pokazują społeczeństwa Rosji Radzieckiej i Trzeciej Rzeszy w chwili transformacji politycznych, starają się dotrzeć do nowego typu człowieka kształtowanego przez totalitarną rzeczywistość. Reporter występuje tu w roli pośrednika pomiędzy rzeczywistością a odbiorcami, wykorzystuje rozmaite techniki gromadzenia, selekcji oraz montażu materiału wykorzystywanego w tekście.
