Księga Syracha, znana także jako Mądrość Syracha, jest jedną z najbardziej znanych ksiąg żydowskich, spisanych okresie hellenistycznym. Porusza ona szeroki zasób tematów, zawierający między innymi pochwałę Mądrości (autor ją często personalizuje), zasady moralne oraz społeczne, a także historię narodu żydowskiego. Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza literacka oraz historyczna użycia przez autora kolorów oraz materiałów a także ich symbolika. Praca ukazuje, jak zastosowanie różnych kolorów, takich jak złoto, purpura czy szkarłat oraz różnorodnych materiałów, takich jak drewno, złoto, srebro, woda lub ogień, czy kamienie szlachetne pomogło autorowi w zilustrowaniu swoich nauk. Celem tej pracy jest także porównanie użycia przez autora wspomnianych kolorów i materiałów do innych pism żydowskich z starożytności, zwłaszcza do Biblii Hebrajskiej.

The Book of Sirach, also known as the Wisdom of Sirach, is one of the most famous Jewish books written in the Hellenistic period. It covers a wide range of topics, including the praise of Wisdom (often personalized by the author), moral and social principles, and the history of the Jewish people. The aim of this work is to provide a literary and historical analysis of the author's use of colors and materials, as well as their symbolism. The work shows how the use of different colors, such as gold, purple, or scarlet, and different materials, such as wood, gold, silver, water, fire, or precious stones helped the author illustrate his teachings. The aim of this work is also to compare the author's use of these colors and materials to other ancient Jewish writings, especially the Hebrew Bible.
