FUNCTIONS OF A MANAGER AND LEADERSHIP STYLES, CHARACTERISTICS AND SKILLS OF A MANAGER ON THE EXAMPLE OF A COMPANY X FROM THE TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przybliżenie informacji na temat styli kierowania, rólmenedżerskich oraz cech i umiejętności współczesnego menedżera w firmie z branżytechnologicznej X. Praca rozpoczyna się od przybliżenia czytelnikowi teorii dotyczącejstyli kierowania, cech i umiejętności menedżera oraz jego sylwetki. Przybliżono równieżelementy zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi aby lepiej zrozumieć specyfikę pracy iwyzwania stojące przed menedżerami opisywanego przedsiębiorstwa. Kluczowe sądefinicje poszczególnych pojęć zaproponowane przez różnych autorów, celemwskazania, iż pojęcia te mają szeroki wachlarz umiejscowienia ich w organizacji istosowania ich w zależności od obszaru działalności przedsiębiorstwa. Przeprowadzonebadania ankietowe, mają za zadanie wskazać korelacje pomiędzy cechami iumiejętnościami menedżerów, a ich stylem kierowania. Wnioskować można z nich, żeniemożliwym jest jednoznaczne przypisanie konkretnych cech do poszczególnychmenedżerów, jednakże można zauważyć pewne zależności pomiędzy wiekiem idoświadczeniem menedżerów, ich stylem kierowania a obecną sytuacją gospodarczą ipostawami pracowników organizacji.

The purpose of this paper is to provide information on leadership styles, managerial roles,and the characteristics and skills of the modern manager in technology company X. Thepaper begins by introducing the reader to the theory on leadership styles, managerial traitsand skills, and managerial profiles. It also introduces the elements of human resourcemanagement to better understand the nature of work and challenges faced by managersof the described company. The key is the definitions of each concept proposed bydifferent authors, to indicate that these concepts have a wide range of positioning in theorganization and their application depending on the area of activity of the company.Questionnaire research was conducted in order to indicate correlations betweencharacteristics and skills of managers and their leadership style. They conclude that it isimpossible to unequivocally attribute specific characteristics to individual managers,however, some correlations can be observed between the age and experience of managers,their leadership style and the current economic situation and attitudes of the organization'semployees.
