W pracy przedstawiono jedno z najświętszych miast hinduistów, centrum pielgrzymkowe - Waranasi. Opisano mity związane ze świętym miejscem, a także jego patronem - bogiem Śiwą. W opracowaniu zawarta została historia od czasów starożytnych po dziś dzień.

The paper presents one of the holiest Hindu cities, a pilgrimage center - Varanasi. Describes the myths associated with the holy place, as well as its patron - the god Shiva. The study concluded a history from ancient times to the present day.
