Ethical controversy about death penalty

Praca zawiera rozważania na temat moralno - etycznego spojrzenia na karę śmierci. Zawieram w niej również teoretyczne i historyczne aspekty dotyczące celów i podziałów kar. W pracy poruszam zagadnienia kontrowersyjne, takie jak: zasadność kary śmierci wobec seryjnych morderców, ludzi zabijających w imię ideologii, wykorzystywanie kary śmierci do celów politycznych oraz możliwość błędnych wyroków i skazywania niewinnych ludzi. Zastanawiam się też, czy kara śmierci jest użyteczna, czy powoduje w więźniu jedynie lęk przed śmiercią. Biorę też pod uwagę opinie i spojrzenie bliskich - zarówno ofiar, jak i skazanych, rozważam także czy tylko kat bierze na siebie brzemię egzekucji, czy też całe społeczeństwo. W pracy zastanawiam się też nad jakością i zasadnością systemu resocjalizacyjnego.

Bachelor's thesis contains reflections on the moral and ethical view of the death penalty. It also contains theoretical and historical aspects concerning the objectives and divisions of penalties. In my thesis, I address controversial issues such as: the legitimacy of the death penalty for serial killers, people killing in the name of ideology, the use of the death penalty for political purposes and the possibility of erroneous sentences and convictions of innocent people. I also wonder if the death penalty is useful or if it only causes the fear of death in prison. I also take into account the opinions and views of loved ones, both victims and convicts, and consider whether only the executioner takes on the burden of execution or the whole society. In my thesis I also wonder about the quality and legitimacy of the rehabilitation system.
