Dealing with the Austrian Nazi history in the Martin Pollack's work

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest pokazanie rozliczeń z nazistowską historią Austrii w twórczości Martina Pollacka. Główną tezą pracy jest stwierdzenie, iż Austria aż po dziś dzień nie rozliczyła się ze swojej nazistowskiej historii. Austria jako kraj została uznana przez aliantów pierwszą ofiarą Hitlera. Konsekwencje tego stwierdzenia są nadal widoczne, gdyż od tego momentu polityka Austriacka skupia się głównie na przemilczeniu trudnej historii niż na przepracowaniu jej. W pracy tej autor analizuje historię Austrii, oraz pokazuje za jej przykładem przemiany społeczne jakie następowały w Austrii od początku XX wieku aż po czasy współczesne.Praca licencjacka składa się z trzech rozdziałów opatrzonych wstępem, zakończeniem oraz bibliografią. Pierwszy rozdział przedstawia ogólny zarys historii Austrii po upadku Cesarstwa Austro-Węgierskiego aż do ogłoszenia przez Austrię neutralności w 1955 roku. Autor kładzie nacisk w tym rozdziale na pokazaniu rozwoju ideologii nazistowskiej w Austrii oraz na sytuacji powojennej. Rozdział drugi przedstawia losy rodziny Martina Pollacka ze szczególnym naciskiem na ojca Martina Pollacka - Gerharda Basta. W rozdziale tym autor przedstawia także wpływ nazizmu na społeczeństwo, posługując się przykładem rodziny Martina Pollacka. Pokazuje również to, jak mocno ideologia nazistowska została zakorzeniona w ludziach. Pomimo faktu zakończenia wojny i upadku III Rzeszy, duża część społeczeństwa dalej pozostała wierna nazistowskim ideałom. Rozdział trzeci opisuje próby rozliczeń z nazistowską historią Austrii, które były podejmowane przez jednostki. Próby te pokazują problemy, związane z nieprzepracowaną trudną historią kraju.

The subject of this work is to show the dealing of the Nazi history of Austria in the works of Martin Pollack. The main thesis of the work is that Austria has not worked out of its Nazi history to this day.Austria as a country was recognized by the Allies as Hitler's first victim. The consequences of this statement are still visible because from that moment Austrian policy is focused mainly on passing over the difficult history rather than working through it. In this work, the author analyzes the history of Austria and shows her example of social changes that have taken place in Austria from the beginning of the 20th century to modern times.The work consists of three chapters with an introduction, ending, and bibliography. The first chapter gives an overview of Austrian history after the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until Austria declared neutrality in 1955. The author emphasizes in this chapter the development of Nazi ideology in Austria and the post-war situation. The second chapter presents the fate of the Martin Pollack family with particular emphasis on the father of Martin Pollack - Gerhard Bast. In this chapter, the author also presents the influence of Nazism on society, using the example of the Martin Pollack family. It also shows how strongly Nazi ideology has been rooted in people. Despite the end of the war and the fall of the Third Reich, a large part of society remained faithful to Nazi ideals. Chapter Three describes the attempts to work through the Nazi history of Austria that was made by individuals. These attempts show the problems related to the unprocessed difficult history of the country.
