The form of a necromantic ritual and its meaning in a myth about murder of Pelias in a Greek literature of the Roman Empire period.

Praca porusza problem zabójstwa Peliasa w cyklu mitów poświęconych Jazonowi i Medei. We wstępie następuje krótkie streszczenie mitu o Argonautach oraz ogólny opis nekromancji w świecie starożytnej Grecji i Rzymu. Autor analizuje trzy relacje z okresu Cesarstwa napisane w języku starogreckim, zwracając uwagę na magiczne środki, jakie posłużyły Medei do przeprowadzenia morderstwa oraz jej wizerunek w kontraście do postaci Jazona. Wykazuje różnice pomiędzy trzema przedstawieniami mitu, biorąc pod uwagę charakter samych dzieł oraz biografie ich autorów.

The work broaches problem of murder of Pelias in a series of myths devoted to Jason and Medea. In the introduction there is a short synopsis of the myth of the Argonauts and a general description of necromancy in a world of ancient Greece and Rome. The author analyses three narratives from the Roman Empire period, written in ancient Greek, calling attention to the magical means which Medea used to perform the murder and to her image in a contrast to that of Jason. He demonstrates differences between the three versions of the myth, taking into account the character of the works and biographies of their authors.
