The bells of Krosno churches - a campanological study

Celem niniejszej pracy jest kompleksowe opracowanie tematyki dzwonów znajdujących się w kościołach na terenie miasta Krosna w województwie podkarpackim. Głównym zadaniem było przeprowadzenie szczegółowej inwentaryzacji tych dzwonów oraz ich opis pod kątem technicznym, historycznym i muzycznym. W pracy omówiono historię i stan badań kampanologicznych w Polsce, dzieje dzwonów od starożytności po czasy współczesne, ich funkcje społeczne i religijne, a także historie krośnieńskich parafii i ich dzwonów. Integralną część pracy stanowi aneks katalogowy, zawierający szczegółowe opisy dzwonów: ich parametrów technicznych, inskrypcji, zdobień, datowania i miejsca odlewu. Opracowanie to ma na celu zachowanie wiedzy o tym elemencie dziedzictwa kulturowego oraz stworzenie podstaw dla dalszych badań.

The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive study of the bells located in the churches of Krosno, in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The main task was to carry out a detailed inventory of these bells and to describe them from technical, historical, and musical perspectives. The thesis discusses the history and current state of campanological research in Poland, the development of bells from antiquity to the present day, their social and religious functions, as well as the history of Krosno’s parishes and their bells. An integral part of the thesis is a catalogue annex containing detailed descriptions of the bells, including their technical parameters, inscriptions, decorations, dating, and place of casting. The study aims to preserve knowledge about this element of cultural heritage and to provide a foundation for further research.
