Nowa Huta as a Significant Place - influence relationship with space on the formation of identity on the example of urban activists

Miejsce znaczące to część terytorium, wydzielona poprzez zakorzenienie i symboliczne zawłaszczenie, dająca prawo do uznania jej za własną. Miejsce silnie wpływa na proces tworzenia się tożsamości jednostkowych i zbiorowych. W jej obrębie dochodzi do komunikacji i wymiany znaczeń oraz tworzenia się więź z przestrzenią powstałej na gruncie częstego doświadczania jej. Przebywanie w przestrzeni pozwala dokonać identyfikacji własnej osoby i przekłada się na kolejne aspekty budujące tożsamość, takie jak zwracanie uwagi na charakter miejsca, jego wygląd i symbole, dostrzeganie nawyków przestrzennych i uczestnictwo w nich, uwrażliwienie na problemy jego społeczności i utożsamiania się z nią. Praca skupia się na zagadnieniu tożsamości utworzonej na gruncie kontaktu z Nową Hutą wśród aktywistów miejskich, którzy stanowią grupę osób silnie związanych z tą przestrzenią.

Within it comes to communication and exchange of meanings. Being in a Place can be identified by oneself and translates into other aspects of building identity, such as beat the drum to the character of the place, its appearance and symbols, discerning habits, sensitivity to the problems of his community and identification with it. The thesis focuses on the question of identity form on the grounds of contact with Nowa Huta among urban activists who form a group of people strongly associated with this space.
