The model of care of a patient suffering from Lyme borreliosis based on the theory of D. Orem

Wstęp: Borelioza z Lyme, jest wielonarządową bakteryjną chorobą. Do zakażenia może dojść w wyniku ukłucia przez kleszcze zakażone bakteriami z rodzaju Borrelia. W związku z tym, że nie istnieje szczepienie profilaktyczne stanowi ona największy problem spośród chorób przenoszonych przez kleszcze. Wczesne wykrycie oraz wdrożona farmakoterapia daje możliwość całkowitego wyleczenia. Edukacja oraz wdrożenie działań prewencyjnych zmniejsza ryzyko zachorowania na boreliozę.Cel pracy: Celem pracy było opracowanie modelu opieki pielęgniarskiej wg teorii Dorothy Orem nad pacjentem z boreliozą oraz przedstawienie holistycznego podejścia do pacjenta z tym schorzeniem.Materiał i metody: Metodą wykorzystywaną w pracy była analiza dokumentów. Analizie poddano 13 artykułów polskojęzycznych, 2 artkuły anglojęzyczne i 6 polskojęzycznych pozycji zwartych z lat 1995-2013.Wyniki: Głównym problemem pacjenta z boreliozą był ból stawów, porażenie nerwu twarzowego, podwyższona temperatura ciała, osłabienie. Wdrożono opiekę opartą na procesie pielęgnowania i teorii D. Orem, który umożliwił skuteczne rozwiązywanie problemów pacjenta. Wniosek: Przedstawiony model opieki, opracowany na podstawie teorii Dorothy Orem, może zostać wykorzystany do poprawy skuteczności opieki nad pacjentem z tą jednostką chorobową.

Introduction: Lyme borreliosis is a multisystem bacterial disease. Infection may result from bites by ticks infected with bacteria of the genus Borrelia. Therefore, there is no preventive vaccination it is a major problem among tick-borne diseases. Early detection and implementation of the drug makes it possible to cure the disease. Education and implementation of preventive measures reduces the risk of Lyme disease.Aim: The aim of this study was to develop a model of nursing care according to the theory of Dorothy Orem over a patient with Lyme disease and to provide a holistic approach to the patient with this disease.Material and Methods: The method used in the study was the analysis of documents. We analyzed 13 articles Polish-speaking, articles 2 English-speaking and 6 positions Polish-tight in the years 1995-2013.Results: The main problem was patient with Lyme arthritis pain, facial palsy, increased body temperature, weakness. Implemented care based on nursing process and the theory of D. Orem, which made it possible to effectively resolve the problems of the patient.Conclusion: The model of care developed based on the theory of Dorothy Orem, it can be used to improve the effectiveness of patient care with this disease entity.
