The hydrological regime of the Vistula oxbow lakes based on the example of the western part of Cracow

Celem pracy jest przeanalizowanie zmienności stanu wody starorzecza Wisły. Przeprowadzone badania mogą pomóc określić jak zaklasyfikować opisywane starorzecze oraz wyznaczyć sezonowość występowania stanu wody.Badania zostały podzielone na terenowe oraz kameralne. Badania terenowe były prowadzone przez okres 18 miesięcy w zachodniej części Krakowa. Zakres prac obejmował pomiar stanu wody w trzech punktach pomiarowych badanego starorzecza. Następnie, wyniki z pomiarów terenowych zostały zestawione z pomiarami ze stacji hydrologicznych i synoptycznej. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na czas reakcji starorzecza na zdarzenia hydrologiczno-meteorologiczne.Otrzymane wyniki pozwoliły na określenie formy zasilania badanego obszaru, wyznaczenia zespołu zbiorników wodnych oraz wyciągnięcia wniosków dotyczących stanu środowiska analizowanego obszaru.Ponadto, prace terenowe wskazały błędne założenia, które należy rozpatrywać na etapie planowania badań.

The purpose of the work is to analyze the variability of water status of the Vistula oxbow lake. The conducted research can help determine how to classify the described oxbow lake and determine the seasonality of water status.Research has been divided into field and chamber. Field studies were conducted for 18 months in the western part of Krakow. The scope of work included measuring the water level at three measuring points of the tested oxbow lake. Then, the results of field measurements were combined with measurements from hydrological and synoptic stations. Particular attention was paid to the oxbow lake response time to hydrological and meteorological events.The obtained results allowed determining the form of supplying the examined area, determining the set of water reservoirs and drawing conclusions regarding the state of the environment of the analyzed area.In addition, fieldwork indicated incorrect assumptions that should be considered at the research planning stage.
