Free will from the perspective of recent biology and cognitive philosophy.

Praca dotyczy problemu relacji wolności woli człowieka i determinizmu. Przywołuje współczesne stanowiska w tym sporze (kompatybilizm, inkompatybilizm) i koncepcje takich autorów jak: D. Dennett, H. Frankfurt, R. Kane, D. Wegner, B. Libet. T. Honderich. Analizy poszczególnych koncepcji pokazują, jaką rolę we współczesnej dyskusji filozoficznej poświęconej zagadnieniu wolnej woli odgrywają badania prowadzone na gruncie nauk ścisłych (zwł. neurobiologia, psychologia) i jak zmieniają one postrzeganie tematu oraz jakie nowe rodzaje argumentacji zostają dzięki temu opracowane. Celem pracy jest zasugerowanie, że w chwili obecnej izolowanie zagadnienia wolności człowieka, woli i odpowiedzialności od szerszego kontekstu nie jest możliwe - jedynie współpraca wszystkich nauk kognitywnych (filozofii, psychologii, neurobiologii, logiki, teorii systemów itp) może dać szansę na pełniejsze i dokładniejsze zrozumienie człowieka.

The paper concerns the problem of the relation of freedom of human will and determinism. Evokes the contemporary position in this dispute (compatibilism, incompatibilism) and concepts such authors as: D. Dennett, H. Frankfurt, R. Kane, D. Wegner, B. Libet. T. Honderich. Analysis of individual concepts show what role in contemporary philosophical discussion devoted to the issue of free will play a research conducted on the basis of science (especially neuroscience, psychology) and how they change the perception of the subject and what new kinds of argumentation are thus developed. Aim of this study is to suggest that, at present isolating issues of human freedom, will and responsibility of the broader context is not possible - only the cooperation of all the cognitive sciences (philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, logic, systems theory, etc.) can give a chance for a fuller and more accurate understanding of man.
