Praca pod tytułem: „Problemy pielęgnacyjne u chorego z ostrą niewydolnością oddechową leczona respiratorem” jest praca wyłącznie opisową. Niniejsza praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. Pierwszy poświęcony jest podstawowym zagadnieniom dotyczącym niewydolności oddechowej: jej definicji, klasyfikacji, oraz zawiera czynniki ryzyka i objawy. Kolejny rozdział opisuje leczenie niewydolności oddechowej dzieląc je na farmakoterapię, leczenie respiratorem oraz fizykoterapię. Ostatni rozdział to model opieki pielęgniarskiej nad chorym z niewydolnością oddechową leczoną respiratorem. Pracę kończy posumowanie, w którym zawarto uzasadnienie wyboru tematu.

The work under the title: "Problems of care in a patient with acute respiratory failure treated with a respirator" is the work descriptive only. This paper consists of three main chapters. The first chapter includes basic issues concerning to respiratory failure: its definition, classification and also contains causes and risk factors for respiratory failure. The following chapter describes treatment of respiratory failure dividing it into pharmacotherapy, treatment by respirator and physiotherapy. The last chapter is the model of nursing care in the sick with respiratory failure treated with a respirator. The work is ended by the summary, which includes reasons for selection the topic.
