Adaptation of literary models as a sign of 'bad faith' : "First love..." by Eugène Scribe in the light of Jean Paul Sartre's philosophy

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wykorzystanie filozoficznych rozstrzygnięć do analizy dzieła literackiego. Prezentowane w obrębie Pierwszej miłości... Eugène'a Scribe'a postawy i zachowania bohaterów ujmowane są jako przykład Sartre'owskiej złej wiary. Analizie poddane zostają również zagadnienia wolności, wpływu wzorców literackich na kształtowanie się światopoglądu, wcielania się w "role" oraz życia autentycznego.

The purpose of this paper is to use philosophical ideas to analyze literary works. The author wishes to demonstrate that attitudes and behaviors presented in the comedy First Love... by Eugène Scribe can be interpreted as examples of Sartre's 'bad faith'. Other problems, such as freedom, adaptation of literary models in the development of human beliefs, embodiment of the role and an authentic way of life will also be discussed here.
