Global and Local Climate Changes.

W pracy omówione zostały obserwowane zmiany klimatu i ich wpływ na systemy naturalne i społeczne w zależności od ich przyczyn. Skoncentrowano się na podstawowych antropogenicznych oddziaływaniach na atmosferę Ziemi. Można je podzielić na dwa rodzaje: globalne, które determinują tzw. efekt cieplarniany, powodują niszczenie warstwy ozonowej oraz lokalne, czyli emisję wielu podstawowych zanieczyszczeń gazowych (np. dwutlenku siarki czy tlenków azotu) prowadzącą do tworzenia się smogu w miastach i powstawania miejskiej wyspy ciepła. Ponadto zaprezentowano scenariusze zmian klimatu, a także przedstawiono zagrożenia związane z jego zmianami. Dodatkowo pokazane są możliwości adaptacji i łagodzenia zmiany klimatu w następnych kilku dziesięcioleciach oraz ich powiązania ze zrównoważonym rozwojem.

The thesis discusses the observed climate changes and their influence on natural and social systems with regard to reasons for the changes. The thesis focuses on the basic anthropogenic influences on the Earth’s atmosphere. They can be divided into two types: global influences which determine the so called greenhouse effect and damage the ozone layer, as well as local influences, i.e. emission of gases such as e.g. sulphur dioxide or nitric oxide, leading to the creation of smog in big cities and to the phenomenon of urban heat island. Additionally, the paper presents several climate changes scenarios together with threats connected with climate change. Moreover, the thesis also shows the possibilities of adaptation and climate change mitigation over the next decades and their connection with balanced development.
