Professional and lesson procrastination among teachers working in Lithuania and their professional burnout

W pracy zbadano związek między prokrastynacją zawodową i lekcyjną, a wypaleniem zawodowym. Rozpatrzono także zależność występującą pomiędzy stresem, zwlekaniem, prokrastynacją zawodową, prokrastynacją lekcyjną i wypaleniem zawodowym, a danymi psychodemograficznymi. Związek między tymi zmiennymi ustalono na podstawie wyników badań przeprowadzonych na grupie 50 nauczycieli polskich szkół na Litwie. Nauczycieli badano za pomocą narzędzi: Kwestionariusz Prokrastynacji w Pracy - PAWS (Metina, Taris i Peeters), Kwestionariusz Prokrastynacji u Nauczycieli (Graliec), Kwestionariusz zwlekania –PPS (Steel), Skala odczuwanego stresu - PSS-10 Kwestionariusz wypalenia zawodowego – LBQ (Santinello). Analiza wyników pozwoliła na sformułowanie wniosku, że wypalenie zawodowe ma związek z miejscem zamieszkania, wiekiem i aktualnym związkiem nauczyciela. Natomiast prokrastynacja jest powiązana z wiekiem, statusem zawodowym i stanowiskiem oraz ilością posiadanych dzieci nauczyciela. Związek pomiędzy prokrastynacją zawodową i lekcyjną, a wypaleniem zawodowym został potwierdzony, wynik jest istotny statystycznie (r=0,36, p=0,02). Wyniki badań potwierdziły hipotezy, ale w badanym obszarze potrzebne są kolejne badania na większych grupach.

The study examines the relationship between prefessional and class procrastination and occupational burnout, and also examines the relationship between stress, procrastination, professional procrastination, class procrastination, and occupational burnout, and psychodemographic data. The relationship between these variables was established on the basis of the results of research carried out on 50 teachers of Polish schools in Lithuania. Teachers were tested using the following tools: PAWS (Metina, Taris and Peeters), Teachers' Procrastination Questionnaire (Graliec), PPS (Steel), PSS-10 and LBQ (Santinello ). The analysis of the results made it possible to formulate a conclusion that professional burnout is related to the place of residence, age, and the current relationship of the teacher. Then procrastination is linked to age, job status and position, and the number of children of the teacher has. The relationship between professional and class procrastination and burnout was confirmed, the result was statistically significant (r = 0.36, p = 0.02). The results of the studies confirmed the hypotheses, but more studies on larger groups are needed.
